Canyon Val Zemola
Friulian Dolomites – Municipality of Erto e Casso
More information about the Val Zemola Canyon
A very deep gorge with a consistently abundant flow of water, among the most beautiful and characteristic in the Alpine region. The final section features highly technical passages.
A very beautiful and highly recommended water canyon; fairly short abseils but in strong water; exposed stops; turbulent pools; narrow passages with poor lighting; a large drainage basin; no exits for long stretches.
It has all the ingredients for a true adventure, but it’s suitable for those who have already explored canyons and know how to abseil independently. The Val Zemola canyon is not suitable for beginners; in fact, it presents several fairly challenging technical obstacles and water flows that are prohibitive at certain times of the year.
On the other hand, the canyon is stunning and features unique, narrow, deep passages and, the icing on the cake, a series of incredible and truly unique natural rock arches.
